Jack of All Trades

From Gor Wiki

JACK OF ALL TRADES
Master one path and you become accomplished. Master many, and the lessons of those paths begin to come together.

What Is Jack of All Trades?

Jack of All Trades is one of the major long-term progression paths within the Custom Class System.

Rather than representing a single profession or combat style, Jack of All Trades rewards a character for mastering many different classes over the course of a long career.

Every class mastered at Class Level 100 becomes part of the character's permanent history. Those masteries can contribute toward Jack of All Trades bonuses, progression, and access to eligible systems associated with the classes the character has completed.

Jack of All Trades is earned through mastery.

Simply choosing a class does not permanently add its powers to Jack of All Trades. A class must first be mastered before its lessons can contribute to the larger multi-class path.

THE CORE IDEA
Every mastered class becomes another completed chapter in your character's progression.
Begin by following one of the available classes in Gor Ultima. Each class has its own identity, supporting skills, progression, and specialized systems.
Reach Class Level 100 to master that path. The mastery becomes a permanent accomplishment tied to the character.
The mastered class contributes toward Jack of All Trades. Eligible class systems can then become available through the broader multi-class progression path.

BUILDING A JACK OF ALL TRADES
The path is built one mastery at a time.

A Jack of All Trades is not created by selecting every class at once.

The progression is built over time:

1. Choose a class.

2. Develop that class through its normal progression.

3. Reach Class Level 100 and earn Class Mastery.

4. The mastered class is added to the character's completed class history.

5. That mastery contributes toward Jack of All Trades progression.

6. Choose another class and begin a new path.

7. Continue mastering classes and expanding the abilities available through Jack of All Trades.

The system rewards breadth, but every individual class must still be earned. Jack of All Trades does not replace class progression. It is built upon it.

ACTIVE CLASS AND JACK OF ALL TRADES
There is an important difference between playing a class and having mastered it.

Your active class is the class you are currently playing.

When that class has a dedicated Class Bonus System, the active character may use the system associated with the currently selected class.

The active class represents your character's present focus.

Jack of All Trades represents the accumulated knowledge of classes your character has already mastered.

A class does not contribute its eligible bonus system to Jack simply because it has been selected or partially leveled. The class must first reach mastery.

The Jack represents your character's completed history.

MASTERY GRANTS ACCESS
The central rule of Jack of All Trades is simple.
MASTER THE CLASS FIRST

A character may use the bonus system belonging to the class currently being played.

Jack of All Trades may use an eligible class bonus only after that class has been mastered.

This rule keeps individual classes meaningful.

A player cannot simply switch briefly into a class, collect its strongest feature, and immediately carry it into Jack of All Trades. The class must first be developed all the way to Class Mastery.

The result is a progression path where power represents completed experience rather than temporary access.

WHAT A MASTERED CLASS CAN CONTRIBUTE
Not every class contributes in exactly the same way.
Every mastered class can contribute toward the larger Jack of All Trades progression and the broad benefits connected to mastering multiple paths.
Classes with dedicated bonus systems may unlock those systems for Jack of All Trades after the class has been mastered.
Levels earned beyond Class Level 100 can support smaller statistical or scaling improvements without being required for the main mastery unlock.

CLASS IDENTITIES AND BONUS SYSTEMS
The goal is not simply to collect statistics. It is to collect mastered disciplines.

Classes throughout Gor Ultima possess named identities and specialized system concepts. When a dedicated bonus system exists and its class has been mastered, that class identity can become part of the Jack of All Trades progression.

Knightly Oath
A defensive class identity centered around protection, armor, shields, guard play, and reliable front-line defense.
Rage Meter
An aggressive class identity built around momentum, combat pressure, damage taken, and sustained melee action.
Precision Shot Chain
A ranged identity that rewards distance, preparation, precision, ammunition support, and controlled attack chains.
Arcane Charge
A pure magical identity centered around spell throughput, mana sustain, arcane resources, and enhanced spellcasting.
Nature Bond
A support identity connecting nature, animals, plants, healing, wilderness knowledge, and region-based abilities.
Experimental Mixtures
A crafting and combat-support identity based around potions, antidotes, poison control, reagents, and tactical mixtures.
Weapon Enchant Rhythm
A hybrid identity combining rapid weapon combat, temporary enchantments, and supporting magic.
Runeblade Hunger
A dark defensive identity built around durable melee combat, necromantic pressure, sustain, and controlled anti-healing effects.
Summoner Progression
A deep companion-focused identity involving persistent summon families, levels, Spiritbond, evolution powers, and long-term creature development.

A DEEPER EXAMPLE: SUMMONER
Some class bonuses are entire progression systems of their own.

The Summoner demonstrates the kind of system that can sit behind a class identity.

A Summoner can develop persistent summoned creature families with:

• saved summon levels
• experience and growth
• selected evolution powers
• family-specific progression
• Spiritbond
• improved statistics and abilities
• specialized summon identities

When Summoner has been mastered, its eligible class-system identity can become available through Jack of All Trades according to the rules of the Class Bonus System.

BROAD, BUT CONTROLLED
Jack of All Trades is meant to reward dedication without making every individual class meaningless.

The goal of Jack of All Trades is not to create a character who instantly receives the full power of every class.

The system is built around several limits:

Mastery is required. A class must reach Level 100 before its eligible system can contribute.

Individual classes still matter. Playing a class directly remains the natural way to experience its identity and progression.

Class systems are unlocked deliberately. A dedicated Class Bonus System must exist before that system can become available through Jack.

Prestige is supplemental. Levels beyond 100 can add smaller statistical or scaling improvements without becoming a second mastery requirement.

Power remains controlled. Jack of All Trades is intended to become broad and versatile without simply stacking every class into one uncontrolled source of power.

PRESTIGE AND JACK OF ALL TRADES
Mastery opens the door. Prestige represents continued dedication.
Reaching Level 100 completes the main class progression and allows the class to contribute toward Jack of All Trades.
Further levels can continue improving smaller statistics, scaling values, or future class hooks without being required to unlock the class for Jack.

AN EXAMPLE JOURNEY
A Jack of All Trades is built through a character's history.

A character begins life as a Knight.

The character reaches Knight Level 100 and earns Class Mastery.

Knight now becomes part of the character's Jack of All Trades progression.

The character then begins training as a Mage.

After reaching Mage Level 100, Mage is also mastered.

The character later masters Alchemist and then Summoner.

The character's progression history now includes:

• Mastered Knight
• Mastered Mage
• Mastered Alchemist
• Mastered Summoner

Each mastery contributes toward the larger Jack of All Trades path. Eligible dedicated class systems from those mastered classes can become available through Jack according to the rules of the Class Bonus System.

The character did not receive four class identities merely by selecting them. Each one was developed, completed, and mastered first.

THERE IS NO SINGLE JACK OF ALL TRADES
The order in which you master classes becomes part of your character's story.
A character may begin by mastering Knight, Berserker, Samurai, Gladiator, Dragoon, and other combat-focused disciplines.
Another character may master Mage, Sorcerer, Warlock, Necromancer, Elementalist, Mystic, and other supernatural paths.
A different character may focus on Alchemist, Engineer, Tinker, Enchanter, and other crafting-oriented classes before branching elsewhere.
A character may pursue Battle Mage, Spellblade, Death Knight, Templar, Illusionist, and other classes that combine multiple disciplines.
The most dedicated characters may eventually attempt to master paths from every class family, building a history that spans combat, magic, support, crafting, companions, and more.

A PROGRESSION PATH CONNECTED TO THE SHARD
Jack of All Trades sits at the meeting point of many different systems.

Depending upon the classes mastered and the systems connected to those classes, Jack of All Trades may interact with:

• Custom Class System
• Class Mastery
• Class Bonus Systems
• Prestige Levels
• Evolved Skills
• Summoner Progression
• Esper Companions
• Wands and Wandcraft
• Enhanced Spell Systems
• Magical Meals
• combat, crafting, gathering, and other specialized class systems

The result is a progression path designed for characters who continue exploring the shard long after mastering their first profession.
