Achievement System
The Achievement System records accomplishments earned throughout a character's life in Gor Ultima.
Achievements can be earned through combat, PvP, exploration, gathering, crafting, wealth, skill development, Pet Fusion, maritime activity, and unusual feats.
Some achievements are completed in a single memorable moment.
Others represent long-term goals that may take days, weeks, or much longer to finish.
A character may become known as an explorer, warrior, artisan, collector, Grandmaster, mariner, beast handler, or something far more unusual. The Achievement System keeps a record of those accomplishments and the points earned from completing them.
|
Many achievements track progress over time. Slaying enemies, gathering resources, crafting items, exploring dangerous places, and developing skills can gradually move an achievement toward completion.
|
When the required goal is reached, the achievement is completed and permanently recorded on the character.
|
Every completed achievement awards a number of Achievement Points based upon the accomplishment.
|
The Achievement System monitors supported activities throughout the world.
Depending upon the achievement, progress may be recorded when you:
• defeat creatures
• defeat other players
• discover dungeons and hidden places
• gather resources
• successfully craft items
• develop skills
• accumulate wealth
• complete Pet Fusions
• participate in maritime activity
• perform unusual or exceptional feats
Progress and completed achievements are stored with the character, allowing long-term goals to continue across play sessions and server restarts.

The Achievement Journal organizes accomplishments into categories and displays the progress of achievements within each section.
Your total Achievement Points are displayed as part of the achievement interface, providing a single measure of how much your character has accomplished across the many different parts of the shard.
An adventurer who spends years exploring dungeons may build a very different achievement history from a master craftsman, a PvP veteran, a wealthy merchant, or a dedicated mariner.
|
Achievements earned by defeating dangerous creatures and becoming an experienced monster hunter.
|
Achievements for victories against other players and their controlled combat companions.
|
Achievements for discovering dungeons, hidden areas, and dangerous places scattered throughout the world.
|
Long-term achievements for harvesting wood, ore, leather, scales, and other resources.
|
|
A broad family of achievement categories recognizing the work of artisans, smiths, tailors, jewelers, tinkers, woodworkers, cooks, and alchemists.
|
Achievements for characters who accumulate significant amounts of wealth during their adventures.
|
Achievements that recognize characters who raise their skills to Grandmaster levels of expertise.
|

|
|
Combat achievements reward characters for defeating particular families of enemies and completing long-term hunting goals. Examples include: Orc Slayer Dragonbane These accomplishments reward characters who repeatedly seek out and overcome dangerous foes. |
PvP achievements record victories against other players and player-controlled creatures. Examples include: First Blood The Warlord Pet Slayer and Bane of Beasts recognize victories against another player's controlled companions. |
Dungeon Achievements reward exploration.
The system can recognize the discovery of individual dungeons and hidden areas while also tracking larger exploration milestones.
Examples include:
Dungeon Explorer
Discover 10 different dungeons or hidden areas.
Grandmaster Explorer
Discover 50 different dungeons or hidden areas.
Legendary Explorer
Discover all 85 known dungeons and hidden areas.
Exploration achievements give meaning to discovering the world itself. A place does not need to contain the greatest treasure to become part of your character's story.
Gathering achievements recognize long-term dedication to harvesting the world's resources.
Different achievements can track:
• common and rare woods
• ordinary and advanced ores
• hides and specialized leathers
• scales
• other supported gathering resources
A miner who gathers vast quantities of Iron follows a different achievement path from one who seeks Mithril, Xormite, Dwarven metals, or other rare resources.
The same is true for lumberjacks, skinners, and other gatherers.
The Achievement System recognizes that gathering thousands of resources is an accomplishment of persistence, not merely a step before crafting begins.
Crafting achievements are divided into specialized categories so that different professions can develop achievement histories of their own.
|
Achievements connected to tailoring, cloth, leather work, clothing, and other textile crafts.
|
Achievements for blacksmithing, forged equipment, and the long work of shaping metal into useful creations.
|
Achievements connected to jewelry work and the creation of valuable decorative or magical pieces.

|
Achievements connected to carpentry, bowcraft, woodworking, and other creations shaped from timber.
|
Achievements for cooking, provisions, specialized dishes, survival foods, and other culinary accomplishments.
|
A large specialized achievement category recognizes potion brewing, healing mixtures, poisons, specialized concoctions, glass work, potion kegs, processed materials, and long-term mastery of Alchemy.
The Achievement System recognizes Grandmaster-level skill development.
Supported skills can award a dedicated achievement when the character reaches 100.0 base skill.

• Grandmaster Alchemy

• Grandmaster Archery
• Grandmaster Blacksmithy

|
Wealth achievements recognize major financial milestones. Examples include: Penny Pincher The Hoarder For some characters, building a fortune can become an adventure of its own. |

|
Current maritime achievements include First Net Cast, Working the Water, Rare Haul, Salvage Hand, Contract Runner, Sea Legs, Master Mariner, and Deep Water Prize.
Each achievement has its own Achievement Point value.
Smaller milestones may award fewer points.
Difficult, long-term, rare, or exceptional achievements can award considerably more.
Your total Achievement Points are calculated from the achievements your character has completed and are displayed within the Achievement System.
Achievement Points provide a way to compare the breadth of your own accomplishments over time without requiring every character to pursue exactly the same goals.
Completing an achievement awards its Achievement Points and can also provide additional rewards.
Reward contents can vary according to the achievement category.
Depending upon the accomplishment, rewards may include:
• gold
• useful supplies
• gathering tools and resources
• crafting materials
• weapons or armor
• potions and consumables
• Awakening Crystals
• Imbuing Runes

Reward systems are designed so that an achievement can feel connected to the type of accomplishment that earned it.
